AUGUST 9, 2011 - PLEASE WELCOME DISTRICT GOVERNOR CLINT DAWKINS

Clint Dawkins has been a member of the Rotary Club of West Jacksonville since 1983. He has held all elected offices in his club, serving as President in 1999-2000. Clint has had the honor of serving District 6970 as Assistant District Governor from 2002-2005; District Fund and Procedures Committee member from 2005-2008; and as Major Gifts and Planned Giving Chair of the District Foundation Committee from 2006-2009. Clint is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Paul Harris Society, a member of the Bequest Society; and a Foundation Major Donor.

Clint graduated from Emory University (1971) and The University of Georgia (1972); and has been married to his wife, Lane (also a Paul Harris Fellow), for over 38 years. They have three children and eight grandchildren. Lane and Clint enjoy golf, reading, "Georgia Bulldog" football, and "hanging out" with family; as well as spending time in their home in Highlands, North Carolina. They are members of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Jacksonville.

Clint is a third-generation owner of Big D Building Center in Jacksonville, a building products distribution/subcontracting company. He is Past President of The Florida Building Materials Association; The Visiting Nurses Association of North Florida; and The Two Hundred Club of Northeast Florida. He is a Past Director of The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers' Association, and The Northeast Florida Builders' Association; and an alumnus of the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 1979. Clint is currently a Director of the Riverside Hospital Foundation and the North Florida Command of The Salvation Army.
