Minutarian Update, Week 31

Rotarians of 6970,

Rotary International President Elect, Gary Huang, unveiled next years Rotary theme last week in San Diego, ‘Light Up Rotary’. Our own District Governor Elect, Percy Rosenbloom and his wife Betty, were in attendance for the full week of training. Percy stated after hearing President Elect Gary’s speech, “you could feel your heart thumping, it was very exciting”.
Gary is a member of the Rotary Club of Taipei, Taiwan and will take office this July 1st.
Last week, over 200 people witnessed ground breaking ceremonies for a new Community Health Outreach Center on Timuquana Road, in Jacksonville. This clinic has operated out of a small, older building for many years. Offering dental, health, and other services for the under served, needy families of the area, it’s time for a new home. Much of the fund raising and procurement of in-kind materials and services for this $2 million dollar project, are being spearheaded by the Rotary Club of North Jacksonville and other area Rotary Clubs. If your club needs a project or just wants to help, contact North Jax Rotarians,
Rotary Has A Heart and there will be feeding projects going on all over our District on February 14th. Please remember to let District Governor Nominee Designate Marshall Butler, know what your club is doing to play a part in this great project.

Thanks so much,

Engage Rotary, Change Lives
