Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty

Linda Sherrer, Founder President and CEO

Linda H. Sherrer is the Founder, President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty (formerly known as Prudential Network Realty) in Jacksonville, Florida. As its founding broker, she has guided the company from its inception in 1988. Today, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty is one of the most dynamic and respected real estate firms in northeast Florida with more than 275 agents, eight branch offices, a corporate relocation division, a builder sales and marketing division, a title company, a referral company and a mortgage relationship. During the past decade, the company sold more than 31,000 homes valued at more than $8.5 billion.

Sherrer is one of the original 10 members of the National Advisory Council of Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. In 1998, she was named Prudential Real Estate Affiliates' National Broker of the Year, a coveted award presented annually to one broker chosen from more than 14,000 Prudential real estate brokers throughout the nation. Sherrer is serving on the 2014 Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Luxury & Resort Advisory Council.

Sherrer has received numerous honors for her achievements and dedication to the real estate industry and the northeast Florida community including awards such as First Coast Business Hall of Fame; 2006, Ultimate CEO; 2006, UNF Distinguished Business Leader; and 2011 and 2012, Top Women-Owned Businesses by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

Sherrer has served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Jacksonville International Airport Board of Directors, on the board of directors of the Florida Association of Realtors and IM Sulzbacher Center, as past president of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors and formerly held the position of Commodore at Epping Forest Yacht Club. Sherrer also served on the Jacksonville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Board of Directors for six years, including a term as chairman.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices was created in 2012 as a new real estate brand majority-owned by HomeServices of America, Inc., an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway, and Brookfield Asset Management, which acquired Prudential Real Estate in 2011. One of the most well-known and trusted brands in the world, Berkshire Hathaway was ranked No. 1 on Barron’s list of the Top 100 “most respected” companies in the world, outranking brands like Apple and Disney.

With the addition of Prudential Network Realty, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is able to incorporate the sales expertise and local market knowledge of a Northeast Florida market leader. The firm, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2013, was one of Prudential’s top affiliates in Florida and among its Top 50 in the national network.

Minutarian Update, Week 42

This weeks Minute starts with a special shout out to both Jacksonville Rotarian Ken Durkee, and Jacksonville Comcast. For many years now, the cable provider has graciously allotted time and resources for Rotary. 30 minutes, once a month on channel 99 in Duval County, with Ken conducting the interviews, getting the Rotary word out. Thanks Ken and Comcast.

What a weekend! Gingie and I attended the Catfish Festival in Crescent City on Saturday. Thousands of people, enjoying a parade, food, games, fun, and a great parade. A wonderful Rotary Day event.

Sunday morning, we witnessed the start of the Flagler Beach Clubs, cycling races. I asked DGE Percy Rosenbloom, and DGND Marshall Butler to finish 1st and 2nd. Following up with Percy on Monday, Percy reported Marshall did indeed finish amongst the leaders. Percy stated that he finished too, not T W O mind you, but too as in also. Immediately following the race, our cycling twosome attended Rhythm and Ribs. This St Augustine Sunrise event draw thousands of people to the music, the food, the fellowship and more. Another great Rotary Day, providing funds for all their club projects.
