Casey Martin has been mountain climbing in Tanzania. A group of 18 set out to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in early June  that proved to be the most difficult  climb he has ever experienced.  They were on the mountain for 6 days (4 1/2 days up, 1 1/2 down).   They started at 6046' elevation and summited at 19,341'.   They spent the night in hut camps along the way. Of the 18 who started 6 made the summit.  He was proud to be one who did. The final climb to the top took 22 hours.

 Thank You
Hi my name is Alaura Lucas and out of hundreds of students you chose to sponsor me. Therefore I would like to Thank You from the bottom of my heart because this truly was an amazing experience. I have been to a lot of Leadership Conferences and this was by far the most influential and most impacting of them all. I know for a fact that I will continue with RYLA, so that I can continue into ROTARACT, so that I can ultimately become a Rotarian like you. So Thank You again for giving me the chance to experience such a wonderful event. You've blessed me and I'll always remember that.

Minutarian Update

1.  Did you Know we have a new District Website.  It is first class, designed and maintained by web master and fellow Rotarian Howard Kelly.  The site is the GoTo place for just about everything concerning Rotary.
2.  Rotary has RealRotaryRadio.org  No, it's not really radio, but a webcast with neat stuff, like live interviews with Paul Harris.
3.  Next Rotary Leadership Institute is August 3, however, if you plan on attending, you will need to travel.  The closest one listed on their web site is Tallahassee.
4.  Membership and Foundation Seminar is scheduled for August 17.  This combined seminar is for updates on all things Foundation and Grants, and Foundation related awards.  They will NOT be talking about recruiting members.
