Meet JEA's New CEO, Paul McElroy

Paul McElroy was appointed Chief Executive Officer effective October 1, 2012.  He has served as JEA’s Chief Financial Officer since January 1, 2006.  Prior to that, he served as JEA’s Vice President Financial Services.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, a certificate from the Advanced Management Program of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and pursued graduate level studies at the University of Bridgeport and the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

Before joining JEA in 2002, Paul served as a Vice President and General Manager for Bombardier Capital Corporation in Jacksonville, Florida and Colchester, Vermont.  Prior to that, he served in a variety of management positions with Pitney Bowes Credit Corporation, including Controller, Director Marketing and Vice President, Internal Finance Division in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Paul serves on The Energy Authority, Inc. (TEA) Board of Directors and has served as chair TEA’s Finance and Audit Committee.

Paul moved to Jacksonville as part of a corporate relocation in 1998.  Once his assignment was done, his family had the opportunity to move again and made the decision to stay in Jacksonville as their junior high school aged daughters, Caitlin and Morgan, were doing well.  They had good friends, went to a good school and church, lived in a  great community so they decided to put down roots in Jacksonville.

Caitlin is currently enrolled in the Teach for America program teaching second graders in the south Bronx.  Morgan is in her last semester of nursing school.  Paul and his wife, Linda, have been married 25 years.  He enjoys golf, the beach and exercising.

Welcome New Member Bill Langley

Bill Langley serves as the Chief Operating Officer of MedScribe Information Systems, Inc., a national medical transcription service company.  He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and is a native of Jacksonville, FL.

Bill and his wife, Tracy, have two daughters, Melissa (21) and Caroline (18).  Melissa is a junior at Florida State University and Caroline is a freshman at the University of Alabama.

Bill is a member of Southside United Methodist Church and currently serves as chairperson for the church preschool.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, shooting pool and spending time with family and friends.
