Minutarian Update, Week 43

A quick refresher this week on the First Object of Rotary;
The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.

To me it's a reminder, that we are not necessarily a service organization. We are in fact an organization of members that believe in and perform service. We use our Rotary Clubs, as the vehicle for that service. You, the members, the customers of Rotary, are our most valuable commodity. Thank you for being a Rotarian.

District conference is growing near. Remember, if you can only make lunch, sign up just for lunch. Dinner only, sign up just for dinner. How about just a breakout or two, that also works. We start at 10:00am on Friday, May 16th at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. Registrations are coming in early this year. We will sell out, so don't be left out.
Remember, clubs considering submission of a District Grant Application, must do so by April 30th. Don't miss the date, don't be late.

Keep doing those wonderful things you do!

Have a great week!
Engage Rotary, Change Lives

Minutarian Update, Week 42

This weeks Minute starts with a special shout out to both Jacksonville Rotarian Ken Durkee, and Jacksonville Comcast. For many years now, the cable provider has graciously allotted time and resources for Rotary. 30 minutes, once a month on channel 99 in Duval County, with Ken conducting the interviews, getting the Rotary word out. Thanks Ken and Comcast.

What a weekend! Gingie and I attended the Catfish Festival in Crescent City on Saturday. Thousands of people, enjoying a parade, food, games, fun, and a great parade. A wonderful Rotary Day event.

Sunday morning, we witnessed the start of the Flagler Beach Clubs, cycling races. I asked DGE Percy Rosenbloom, and DGND Marshall Butler to finish 1st and 2nd. Following up with Percy on Monday, Percy reported Marshall did indeed finish amongst the leaders. Percy stated that he finished too, not T W O mind you, but too as in also. Immediately following the race, our cycling twosome attended Rhythm and Ribs. This St Augustine Sunrise event draw thousands of people to the music, the food, the fellowship and more. Another great Rotary Day, providing funds for all their club projects.
