Meet Richard Catlett
President of the Gator Bowl Association
Richard Catlett has resided in Jacksonville
since the age of two. Over the past 35
years, Catlett has held three jobs. He
spent twelve years as a Senior Administrative Aide under two different
mayors. Then for three years, he was the
Executive Vice President of Touchdown Jacksonville which was the ownership
group that acquired the Jacksonville Jaguars.
For the past 20 years, he has served as the President of the Gator Bowl
Association.
During his tenure at the Gator
Bowl, Catlett served on the Executive Committee of the Football Bowl
Association for twelve years. He served
as the Chairman for two consecutive years.
Catlett has served on numerous
Boards and Commissions during his professional career including the
Jacksonville Transportation Authority, the Boys and Girls Clubs, and is
currently on the Board of Dreams Come True and the Board of Visit Jacksonville. Additionally, he serves on THE PLAYERS
Council.
Catlett is married to Carol Regas
Catlett who retired from the Duval County School System after 35 years of
teaching. They have two children and two
grandchildren. Rachel, 35, is married to
John Hill, a Florida State Trooper and they reside in Winter Springs, Florida
with their four-year-old son, Joshua and two-year-old daughter, Gabrielle. Brian, 34, is a Lieutenant Commander and a Pilot
in the United States Navy.
South Jacksonville Rotarians joined in the fellowship during the North Jacksonville Rotary Club's "Brew at the Zoo" event on October 6th. Taking part in the fun and fellowship were Past President Odette Struys, President Jim and Marian Lanahan, and Christine Goldsmith.
Chief Grady Carrick spoke to the South Jacksonville Rotary Club about the past, present and future Florida Highway Patrol.
