Meet Jerry Mallot
President of JAXUSA Partnership
Jerry M. Mallot is executive vice president of the
Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce and president of JAXUSA Partnership,
formerly Cornerstone. Mallot directs a staff of 12 in the areas of Business
Development, International, Workforce and Research. He led the formation of a seven-country
economic development program to expand high wage jobs in northeast
Florida. During his tenure, Jacksonville
has seen its greatest number of new and expanded companies, as well as new jobs
created, in the city’s history.
Mallot serves on the Board of the Florida Association of
Colleges and Universities and is president of Leadership Jacksonville. He is past president of the Florida Economic
Development Council and World Trade Center Association of Florida. Mallot has served on various Boards including
Enterprise Florida, Visit Jacksonville and the World
Affairs Council. He has been named the
Professional Economic Developer of the Year in both Florida
and Kansas.
Prior to coming to Jacksonville
in January of 1994, Mallot was senior vice president of the Greater Tampa
Chamber of Commerce and executive director of the Tampa Bay Partnership, a
six-county regional economic development program.
Mallot, with his wife Janet, spent the majority of his life
in Wichita, Kansas where he served as president of the Wichita
Area Chamber of Commerce and led economic development for 19 years.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree in business and a Master’s
Degree in economics from Wichita State University. Mallot has earned the Certified Economic
Developer and Certified Chamber Executive designations, the top professional
certifications in these fields.
Mallot enjoys golf and outdoor activities, has six
grandchildren and serves as a big brother in the Big Brother, Big Sister
Program.
Celebration of 100 Years of Rotary In Florida
You
are invited to the 100th Anniversary Celebration Luncheon on February
13, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 224 East Coastline Drive,
Jacksonville, FL.
The keynote speaker is our 2011-12 Rotary International President
Kalyan Banerjee. Doors open at noon and the meeting begins at 12:30
p.m. The South Jacksonville Club will cover the cost for their members
to attend. There is a $5 parking fee.
Salvation Army Bell Ringing
The
club raised $1,057.25 during the holiday season ringing the bell for the Salvation Army! Thank you to all who participated!
