Joint luncheon with Mandarin Club
Lunch is served at Noon, Meeting begins at 12:30p
Welcome Richard Miller, local
sportscaster (Miller on Sports)
......who happens to be the son of SJR Member - Joe Miller
Also joining us are:
Jeff Chandler (former UF Kicker) and Chris McCranie (Former UGA kick returner)
As a Jacksonville native, Richard Miller attended local schools: Bishop Kenny High School and the University of North Florida. At UNF, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications and graduated with Honors. While attending UNF, he produced his own unique sports talk radio show for two and a half years and gained over 200 hours of on-air radio experience as well as directing and production experience. In stints with two other local sports talk radio stations, Miller helped produce numerous top-rated sports talk shows.
In 2009, he became the Sports Columnist for The Jacksonville Observer. Several of his intriguing stories have been ranked number one in the sports category by Google News search engine. For the past three seasons, Miller has covered the Jacksonville Jaguars from the press box at EverBank Field.
In 2009, Miller also began collaborating with nationally well-known sports talk radio personality and legend David Lamm. Together, they have compiled a variety of stories that may eventually culminate into a book.
Miller has spent multiple seasons in the press box at EverBank Stadium. First, he was presenting national "LIVE" updates for Sporting News and more recently performing a similar duty for Yahoo Sports. He enjoys the time in the Jaguars locker room interviewing the players and coaches.
