Steve Piscitelli |
Steve Piscitelli is a recognized teacher, author and workshop facilitator. Whether delivering a conference keynote address, facilitating a day-long retreat for employees, or helping students understand the choices they make, Steve draws on his years of classroom and professional development experience to connect with his audience. His publications reflect his belief in the importance of personal responsibility and individual initiative.
His high-energy sessions combine interaction and practicality with music and humor in such a way that participants leave with practical strategies they can begin using immediately.
Steve, a tenured professor, has earned degrees from Jacksonville University , The University of North Florida, and The University of Florida. He has been recognized for his effective teaching style with awards at the school, county and international level. Steve also has served as the Chair of his college's Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning.
· Author. Steve has written and published eight books. His latest is Choices for College Success (Pearson Education, 2011). He has also written, recorded, and produced two full-length CDs. The most recent release is Find Your Happy Place! (2010).
· Teacher. Steve has three decades of direct (face-to-face) classroom experience. He has taught at the middle school, high school, and college level. As a tenured professor, Steve knows the importance of connecting with the people in front of him.

District Foundation Seminar
Do you
remember the day you joined Rotary?
Do you

Don't forget the District Foundation Seminar, will
be held on
Saturday, August 20, at the Thrasher-Horne Center in
Orange
Park from 8am-2pm. It will be a highly informative
half-day
session that includes continental breakfast and
barbecue
lunch. The Club pays the cost and hopes you will
attend and
enjoy the program. Ramesh Ferris from India will
speak-for
those who missed him at the District Conference this
past
May, his story is quite compelling and he is a
wonderful
speaker.

careful consideration and a great deal of discussion, the Board
unanimously
decided to suspend our Gingerbread "G9" project. The Board
has
tasked the Fund-raising committee (Joel Batten Josh Krehbiel, Mary
Goldsmith)
to come up with three new ideas to carry us forward. The Board
has
expressed their appreciation to our long standing partners, Ronald McDonald
House, HabiJax, and the Jacksonville Historical Society. Your
Board
also sincerely thanks all members who have put so much passion
into the
project. We look forward to your full support as we move forward to
our next
endeavor!

Martha Bogdan, the CEO of the American Lung
Association of the
Southeast, has been
appointed to the Florida Bar Citizens Forum. The
forum is an advisory group
of 12 citizens who provide feedback on plans
and programs and advise
the Bar.
Eight physicians from the Florida Radiation Oncology Group (A.K.A.
FROG) won the highly coveted Patients’
Choice Awards. Our own Doug
Johnson, was among the winners of this
very special award. The "FROG"
Docs provide consultation
and radiation treatment planning, external beam
therapy, brachytherapy,
stereotactic radiotherapy, therapeutic radioisotope
administration, research
protocol administration and, ongoing care and
follow up for adult and
pediatric patients with a variety of malignant and
non-malignant conditions.
